IT STARTED WITH JUST ONE THOUGHT.

Back then, it was a project given by my photography instructor at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary, Canada. Today, it is my company, my dream, my life.

Three years ago, we were given an assignment to produce ten images and present them in a way that reflects the overall theme. It was then that she was stunning began. Taking from past experiences of my life and those of my friends', the words of the collection came first and the photography followed. The original black and white negatives of the first ten are still tucked safely away. Today, the camera may have changed, but the heart and the passion that I feel for this project remain the same.

The women featured in the series are all among my circle of friends. They are strong, intelligent, beautiful women, but most importantly, they are real. With faults and insecurities of their own. she was stunning is not about making a statement, it is about observation, and the ability to laugh at situations and the courage to experience, to learn.

Sarah Khallad is a photography graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design. Kept busy with she was stunning, she also works the commercial and corporate photography fields within Calgary and Alberta. With only a dream and the knowledge that she had created something very special, Sarah took her ideas to the next level, and utilized the services of the Calgary Business Information Centre. From there, she became a recipient of a business loan from the Canadian Youth Business Foundation. She credits her strong ties and unyielding support from family, friends and instructors as the roadmap to her success and notes that, "if you have passion, you will find a way."
